The long wait for delivery of liquefied petroleum gas i.e. LPG or cooking gas is coming to an end. Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), which sells gas under the name Inden, is preparing to launch LPG service immediately. Under this service a gas cylinder will be delivered to the customer on the day of booking.
The service will start from one district of each state
According to a senior IOCL official, the immediate LPG service will start on February 1. The service will start from at least one district or the main city of each state / UT. According to him, delivery of gas cylinders to the customer will be ensured within 45 minutes after booking under this service. The facility is being launched to improve the central government's Ease of Living principle and services.
Inden has about 140 million customers
There are about 28 crore LPG customers in the country. Of that, India has about 140 crore customers. According to an official familiar with the matter, the dealers' current delivery network will be used for the Tatkal scheme. Customers will have to pay an additional fee of Rs 25 per delivery to avail this service. According to a report, the scheme has been launched in Greater Hyderabad from January 16 in view of the Sankranti celebrations.
Inden gas booking number changed
The booking number of Inden Gas has changed. If you want to book your cooking gas cylinder, booking will be accepted on the new number from November 1. Old number gas cannot be booked. Inden has sent a new number to its LPG customers on their registered mobile number for gas booking. Through which you can book for gas cylinder refill. Indian Oil said that earlier there were different mobile numbers for different circles of the country for cooking gas. Now the country's largest petroleum company has issued the same number for all circles. Inden Gas customers across the country have to call or send an SMS to 7718955555 to book an LPG cylinder.
Bookings must be made between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
According to an IOCL official, customers will have to make a booking between 8 am and 2 pm to get instant LPG service. IOCL is also preparing to launch a new mobile application with instant LPG service. The service will be delivered to customers on an online booking basis.
Such a facility was started in the year 20210
This is not the first time that an instant gas delivery service has been launched. In July 2010, the then Oil Minister Murli Devda launched the Preferred Time LPG Delivery Scheme. Under this scheme gas cylinders were delivered to the customers from 7 am to 9 pm. An additional fee of Rs 20 to 50 per delivery was charged for this. According to an LPG trader, consumers could not take advantage of this due to lack of information. Therefore, the plan was shelved.
Mobile number will also be updated
If your mobile number is not registered with the gas sales agency or has changed, you can update it at the time of delivery. For this, Delivery Boy will be given the facility of one app. At the time of delivery you can update your mobile number delivery boy using that app. The mobile number will be updated on a real time basis through the app. Then there will also be a facility to generate code from that number.
OTP must be given at the time of LPG cylinder delivery
The delivery system of cooking gas cylinders is to be changed from November 1. LPG Cylinder Home Delivery will now be One Time Password (OTP) based. An OTP will be sent to the customer's mobile number after booking the gas. This will be shared with the OTP Delivery Boy at the time of cylinder delivery. The gas cylinder will be delivered only after the code is matched with the system. Cylinder cannot be delivered without OTP.
Delivery of gas cylinder has to wait more than 30 days
The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) released a report in December 2019 on delays in delivery of gas cylinders under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana (PMAU). According to the report, delivery of 5.94 lakh out of 3.662 million cylinders under the scheme was delayed by more than 30 days. According to the report, 1209 LPG distributors delayed the delivery of more than 100 gas cylinders by more than 30 days.
